Bachelor of Vocation Tourism & Hospitality Management courses focusses on the overall development of the students with the options of multiple exits at various levels in the courses so that he is free to join the industry at any point of time during the courses. This academic program deals with hotel management and its allied areas. In simple terms, hotel management is a discipline that deals with managerial and administrative tasks of a hotel, hospitality centre or similar organization.
A Hotel or hospitality centre has an organizational structure. There exists dedicated staff that takes care of specific tasks. For example – there exists a set of staff dedicated towards cleaning rooms. Similarly, a team is assigned to take care of the kitchen. A team takes care of front office operations.
In short, there exists different departments, which work together. It is the task of a hotel manager to take care of all these departments or a specific department. The manager manages staff, takes care of finance management, manages inventory, takes care of customer service and many such tasks.
